Plover lands five First Team All-WVLL selections

The Wisconsin Valley Legion League (WVLL) Champion Plover Black Sox American Legion Baseball had five First Team selections, while the Stevens Point Sixers finished with two, on the 2019 WVLL All-Conference Team.

Plover catcher Derek Baumgartner was named to the All-WVLL First Team for the third year in a row, while Plover pitcher Logan Schulfer was selected to the First Team after he was a Second Team selection as an outfielder last year.

First baseman Jack Kelly, second baseman Kaden Roberts and center fielder Cam Stampfl were also named First Team All-WVLL for the Black Sox, who went 13-1 in the conference this season to win the WVLL Title.

Shortstop Justin Morton and center fielder Brady Franz were both selected First Team All-WVLL for the Stevens Point Sixers, who went 7-7 in the conference this season.

Reese Gaber was a Second Team All-WVLL choice for the Sixers at two positions, as he was selected as an outfielder and as a pitcher.

Schulfer was also a Second Team All-WVLL selection at DH/Utility, while Plover’s Brett Ehr was a Second Team All-WVLL pick at pitcher.

Other First Team All-WVLL selections were first baseman AJ Kirsch of Antigo (tie with Kelly), third baseman Jake Thome of Wausau, DH-utility Garrett Held of Antigo, outfielder Garrett Huber of Antigo and pitcher Caleb Krommenakker of Wisconsin Rapids.

Also named Second Team All-WVLL were catcher Logan Doering of Antigo, first baseman Donavan Brandl of Wisconsin Rapids, second baseman Cody Bredl of Wisconsin Rapids, shortstops Eric Langseth of Antigo and Cole Osness of Wausau (tie), third basemen Isaiah Baierl of Marshfield and Nick Marshall of Antigo (tie), outfielder Riley Bousher of Marshfield, outfielder Nathan Krommenakker of Wisconsin Rapids, outfielder Cody Urban of Antigo, pitcher Cole Hediger of Marshfield, pitcher Ethan Peters of Wisconsin Rapids and pitcher Nick Marshall of Antigo.
