Sentry Classic schedule announced

The schedule for the 48th Sentry Classic holiday basketball tournament at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) was released this week.

The boys and girls basketball teams from Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH), Pacelli Catholic High School and Amherst High School, as well as the Almond-Bancroft boys basketball team, which each compete in the Sentry Classic, which will be held at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 26-28.

Outside of the area schools, former SPASH and UWSP standout Nick Bennett is the head coach of the Racine St. Catherine’s boys basketball team, which will face the SPASH boys basketball team in the 7 p.m. game Friday.

This year’s schedule also includes the back-to-back WIAA Division 4 State Champion La Crosse Aquinas girls basketball team taking on the SPASH girls basketball team at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Amherst vs. Dodgeville (Girls American), 2:30 p.m.

Amherst vs. Almond-Bancroft (Boys American), 4:15 p.m.

SPASH vs. La Crosse Aquinas (Girls National), 6 p.m.

Pacelli vs. Edgar (Boys American), 7:45 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 27

Pacelli vs. Racine Lutheran (Girls American), 11 a.m.

Wisconsin Rapids vs. Milwaukee Tech (Boys National), 12:45 p.m.

Wisconsin Rapids vs. La Crosse Aquinas (Girls National), 2:30 p.m.

Almond-Bancroft vs. Edgar (Boys American), 4:15 p.m.

SPASH vs. Mishicot (Girls National), 5 p.m.

SPASH vs. Racine St. Catherine’s (Boys National), 7:45 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 28

Wisconsin Rapids vs. Mishicot (Girls National), 11 a.m.

Wisconsin Rapids vs. Racine St. Catherine’s (Boys National), 12:45 p.m.

Pacelli vs. Dodgeville (Girls American), 2:30 p.m.

Pacelli vs. Amherst (Boys American), 4:15 p.m.

Amherst vs. Racine Lutheran (Girls American), 6 p.m.

SPASH vs. Milwaukee Tech (Boys National), 7:45 p.m.
