City Comptroller-Treasurer’s office hosting photo contest

For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – The City of Stevens Point Comptroller-Treasurer’s Office is hosting a photo contest to find the front cover of their annual budget book.
Deputy Comptroller-Treasurer Carrie Freeberg said that the budget format was changed to include more information beyond just numbers, such as the services that each city department provides, in order to more clearly illustrate what taxpayers are actually getting for their money.
“I decided that adding pictures to the budget would show pride in our City and also help dress it up a little,” she said
Comptroller-Treasurer Corey Ladick stated that he hopes the contest will drive more citizen engagement and interest in the budget process, and spice up an otherwise bland document.
Pictures may be captured anywhere in the city and can be of landmarks, people enjoying a community amenity, or other city activities. The deadline for this year’s contest is Oct. 11.
Send the high-quality photos in portrait –vertical – orientation to [email protected]; include your name, address, phone number, and where the picture was taken.
The individual capturing the photo that is selected will receive a city logo sweatshirt, along with their name credited on the photo.
