ROSHOLT – The 93rd annual Rosholt Portage County Fair runs Aug. 30 – Sept. 2, offering four days of entertainment, music, and family fun.

Visitors will have a chance to enjoy carnival rides, bingo, tractor pulls and much more. The fair will kick off with a chainsaw carving presentation on Friday at 5 p.m.

This year’s parade will be held on Saturday at noon, starting at Rosholt High School. The 2019 parade theme is “Heroes & Villains.” Visitors will get a chance to see their favorite heroes and foes trotting down Rosholt streets.

Sunday is slated as “Amherst Fair Day” in Rosholt. Program leaders are donating $1 from each paid admission to the Amherst Fair to aid the program after last month’s severe weather closed large portions of the event.

The 41st annual Labor Day run will take place on Monday of the fair. Contestants can participate in a 5K and a 10K run, along with a 1.3-mile fun run. There are eight male and female divisions for runners ages 16 and under, 17-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

The fair will wrap up on Monday with the Mike & Miller Variety Show at 3 p.m. on the fair’s North Stage.

On-site camping is not available to the public during the Portage County Fair. The fair’s board of directors is evaluating possibilities to offer public camping for future events. As of now, there is limited camping space for 4-H and FFA participants.

The fair grounds are at 186 E. Forest St., Rosholt.
