Week 2 of the high school football season saw the third-ranked Amherst High School football team (2-0) go on the road and beat fourth-ranked and defending WIAA Division 5 State Champion Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs 14-7 in overtime Friday, Aug. 30.

Rosholt rolled to a 59-0 win over Menominee Indian at home to improve to 2-0, while Almond-Bancroft also moved to 2-0 with a 13-12 win at home over Lake Holcombe/Cornell.

Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) (0-2) had its home opener against third-ranked Fond du Lac (2-0) at Community Stadium at Goerke Field, where Fond du Lac got out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and won 42-7.

The Pacelli Catholic High School (1-0) football team will take on La Crosse Aquinas (1-0) at Community Stadium at Goerke Field at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.
