STEVENS POINT – Area fire department members hit the streets on Sept. 5 to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) during the annual Fill the Boot Campaign.
More than a dozen members of the Stevens Point Fire Department Local 484 took to the corners of Main and Clark Street, boots in hand, to raise funds for the organization that supports people with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases.
The firefighters raised funds to benefit Portage County children.
Volunteers collected donations from drivers and pedestrians on the streets from roughly 1-6 p.m. during the campaign.
