STEVENS POINT – On Sept. 20, students from around the world will unite to “support action on climate change.”

To join the effort, several local organizations are holding a “Walk for the Earth” in Stevens Point.

“As on Earth Day this last April, we will begin assembling at the UWSP Sundial at 4 p.m., and Mayor Mike Wiza and possibly others will address us at 4:30 p.m. The Walk for the Earth will begin immediately after that,” said organizers Susan Zach and Karen Dostal.

“We welcome students of all ages, their teachers, and parents to join UWSP students and community members in this walk.”

The group will gather to walk with signs supporting action on climate change from the UWSP Sundial to Division Street, down Clark Street to Market Square, then return to the Sundial via Main and Division.
