Portage County, we need your help

Dear reader,

Take a good look at this week’s Portage County Gazette. Our editors and writers have worked long and hard to put together yet another issue of premium local coverage. For years now we have been reporting on everything local, for and about, the residents of Portage County and Stevens Point.

The fall has arrived and school has started again, so we are covering school sports and school board meetings. Our reporters also gather the news from city council meetings and all of the occurrences and going ons of our community. Up to this point our Company has been substantially subsidizing this worthwhile endeavor.

Sadly, we can’t continue to do it forever. We need help from you the community to avoid a potential cut back on what up to now has been comprehensive and gold standard reporting. Ways you can help us to keep serving you at this level is to buy a subscription for a friend or a family member, or even one for that elderly person across the street. Additionally, more advertisers could put programs in our local publication and its affiliated website rather than supporting outside digital social media from parts unknown.

For our part, we will reinvest those monies back into the publication and its stewardship for our community. It’s your call.
