Highlights from the Amherst High School football team’s first game at Heartland Farms Field Friday, Sept. 20, and postgame interview with senior wide receiver/cornerback Cyle Zblewski, senior running back/linebacker Aidan Elwood and junior running back/linebacker Bryan Groshek.

Groshek scored the first touchdown in Heartland Farms Field history on a five yard-run with 7:10 left in the first quarter to give the second-ranked Falcons a 7-0 lead over Weyauwega-Fremont (0-5).

Groshek had two more touchdown runs in the second quarter to increase the lead to 21-0, while senior quarterback Lincoln Cullen threw touchdown passes to sophomore wide receiver Ian Hall and junior wide receiver Carmelo Aleman in the final 2:03 of the first half to give the Falcons a 35-0 lead at halftime.

Zblewski returned the second half kickoff 73 yards to the Weyauwega four-yard line to set up Groshek’s fourth touchdown run of the night, while Amherst (5-0) added a safety in the fourth quarter to close the scoring on a 44-0 win, as Elwood finished with nine tackles to lead the defense.
