Victims identified in Portage County crash

PORTAGE COUNTY – The victims in a Sept. 21 Portage County head-on collision, that left one dead and two injured, have been identified.
Officials say that Joel Kiedrowski, 39, of Stockton, was heading west on Highway 10 near Algoma Street in the town of Hull. Kiedrowski began to pass a Toyota Rav-4, but sideswiped it, crossing the center turn lane and heading into eastbound traffic.
Kiedrowski’s vehicle then struck a pickup truck head on, being driven by Thomas Swanson, 63.
Swanson suffered serious injuries. A passenger in the Toyota Rav-4, Kathleen Pedersen, 50, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Kiedrowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened just before 5 p.m. Traffic was detoured for several hours as officials worked to investigate and clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing. No other details were available.
