NAMI to host educational program for caregivers

STEVENS POINT – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will host an educational program for parents, grandparents, and other caregivers of children and adolescents, who are experiencing emotional or behavioral issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and other issues.
The class covers the basics about stigma, mental health conditions, and current therapies. It addresses managing crises, solving problems, and communicating effectively, as well as the impact on the whole family and need for self-care.
Classes will be held Tuesdays, Oct. 1-Nov. 5, 6-8:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2000 Roosevelt Dr., Plover.
