STEVENS POINT — Community Media Manager, John Quirk, recently completed a nine-month program geared toward promoting leadership in the delivery of digital and web services from the Public Technology Institute, earning him the title of Certified Government Digital Services Delivery Professional.
The course program consisted of 10 modules ranging from Citizen Participation, Web Management, Metrics, and Compliance Management. It culminated in a capstone paper describing an implemented project.
“We’re all very proud of John’s work” said Mayor Mike Wiza. “Community Media has been a resource that has really helped us reengage the community and beyond. Our website, TV channel, Radio station, social media presence and even a YouTube Channel have all made great strides in informing people about their government and the things going on around our community. It’s really reaching a worldwide audience now and John was instrumental in making that a reality.”
The program consisted of in-person classroom work in conjunction with the National Association of Government Web Professionals conference earlier this year and 90-minute virtual/online presentations and discussions.
