Point police searching for man involved in assault

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Police Department is searching for a man who attacked a woman outside a Portage Street residence.
On Sept. 30, at approximately 12:35 a.m., a 22-year-old woman exited her residence on the 1000 block of Portage Street and was walking to her vehicle when she was approached by an unknown male. A brief altercation resulted in the female receiving multiple scratches to her left side torso and a cut to her shirt by an unknown object.
The woman punched the man in the left side of the face before he fled the scene, heading eastbound on Portage Street.
The man was identified as white with facial hair, “taller” with average build; he wore a dark long-sleeved shirt.
