Pavement work to start on Nebel Street

For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – The paving of Nebel Street, from Mary Street through Martha’s Lane, is expected to begin on Oct. 7.
The road will remain open to local traffic and access to properties is anticipated to be maintained for the duration of the project. However, given the work required to complete the project, there may be short term closures to properties with minimal notice given. As a result, the city will be lifting parking restrictions on Mary Street, Welsby Avenue, and Martha’s Lane.
The contractor is scheduled to remove the existing pavement and maintain access to properties over the existing roadway base. Once pavements are removed, the contractor will phase the work when building the new roadway to minimize disturbance to properties along the corridor.
Garbage and recyclable pick-up for residents in the area will not be affected.
Project completion is expected in late October, dependent on weather and availability of crews.
