Retired teachers’ book sale returns Oct. 16-19
For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Area Retired Teachers’ Association (SPARTA) will hold its fall book sale Oct. 16-19, on the first floor of the Children’s Museum Building, 1100 Main St., Stevens Point.
The hours of the sale are noon – 7 p. m. on Wednesday; 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday.
More shelving in the non-fiction room makes it easier to find books on favorite subjects whether it is environmental science, music, home improvement, foreign language, trivia, or your favorite or non-favorite political book. This sale also holds a large selection of fiction, children’s books, and teacher materials.
The sale will again be held in two areas separated by the main hallway leading to Main Street at the front of the building and a city parking lot to the back. Nonfiction, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, albums, sheet music, and the Priced Area are located in one room and fiction, children’s, parenting, teacher materials, and puzzles are in rooms across the hall.
SPARTA will award two scholarships endowed through the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin. Profits also fund grants to nonprofit groups or organizations in Portage County that directly impact students’ and seniors’ lives.
