Rosholt schools to participate in Global Youth Initiative

ROSHOLT – The Rosholt School District will participate in the Global Youth Initiative, a program of The John Maxwell Team.
“This program ties in perfectly with what we are trying to accomplish with our young people,” stated Jim Grygleski, Rosholt middle and high school principal. “Having a positive self-image, respecting themselves and others, being a positive influence and learning through our losses connects our goals with the goals of GYI directly. It is exciting to engage in a program going on around the world.”
Todd Kuckkahn, an independent certified John Maxwell Team member, is using Maxwell’s books, “Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn” with grades three, six, and nine, with an age appropriate book for each grade.
“It is amazing to hear the level of interest and understanding of these youngsters. Switching from the ‘losing’ mentality to the learning process is not easy yet these students showed some great signs. Rosholt’s future is bright,” Kuckkahn said.
Mr. Kuckkahn is using Maxwell’s iChoose curriculum with the junior class. Students are not only working through different values but also providing leadership with their classmates. All four grades began the program in September and will continue through the second semester.
