For the City Times

STEVENS POINT – On Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. the city of Stevens Point will host a street naming dedication in honor of the Vetter Family in the East Park Commerce Center.

“We are very lucky to have many great community members and are pleased that we can honor another with this dedication” said Mayor Wiza, who will host the event. “The Vetter family has been an integral part of our city for over 100 years and I am proud to support this small gesture of our appreciation.”

Vetter Drive was approved by the city in September 2018 to honor the Vetter Family for their many contributions to the city and their long standing support of the community.  Vetter Manufacturing began in 1893 with Herman Vetter acquiring the property; he was joined by his brother, C.H. Vetter and father, Henry, Sr. in the family business.

Vetter Drive is located on County highway HH, approximately 800 feet east of the Brilowski Road/County Road R intersection. The dedication will be onsite, with members of the Vetter Family on hand.
