STEVENS POINT – Nancy Bozek has been honored by the Society of American Foresters for her work and contributions to the forestry community.
Bozek, who currently serves as the executive director of the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, is the inaugural recipient of the Julie Peltier Award.
The Julie Peltier Award was created in honor of its namesake to recognize those who work to diversify the faces working toward sustainable forest management in Wisconsin.
In 2014, Nancy created the “Women of WWOA” to connect women with woodland ownership and outdoor education. This successful program presents various forestry related topics in a way which is more inviting to women as current, and future, landowners.
The award was presented at the Foresters’ annual meeting banquet at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Stevens Point, in early October.
