Learn how to cross country ski at Treehaven

STEVENS POINT – Learn the basics of cross-country skiing while enjoying the winter beauty of the Northwoods this January at Treehaven, a field station of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The New Year’s Ski event will be held Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at Treehaven, W2540 Pickerel Creek Road, Tomahawk. Treehaven is a 1,400-acre natural resource education, conference, and research center, operated by UW-Stevens Point’s College of Natural Resources.
Instructors will teach participants the basics of starting, stopping, turning, and gliding across the snow on cross-country skis. Afterwards, visitors can enjoy Treehaven’s groomed ski trails, followed by a fire and hot chocolate.
The event is limited to 30 participants, age 12 and up. Registration is required by Dec. 27 at www.uwsp.edu/treehaven.
