KANSAS CITY, MO – The UW-Stevens Point women’s soccer team has earned the Silver Award from United Soccer Coaches. The organization announced on Jan. 3 that the Pointers were one of 95 collegiate Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipients.
The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is given to United Soccer Coaches members at four levels. Teams honored at the platinum level went an entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow card or red card. Teams honored at the gold, 1-10 percent; silver, 11-30 percent; and bronze, 31-50 percent, levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team’s total number of games played.
UWSP picked up just three yellow cards on the season.
