Port Edwards boys squeak out a victory against Pacelli

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Port Edwards and Pacelli boys basketball met in a Central Wisconsin conference game at Port Edwards on Jan. 16 where Port squeaked out a win.

Port Edwards led the Cardinals at the half 35-29. The game became a close battle in the second half. Port Edwards was able to come ahead and win the game by one point, 60-59.

Quinton Tranel of Port Edwards scored 25 points for the Blackhawks, followed by teammate Nathan Gibbs with 18. Pacelli’s scoring was led by Weston Peplinski with 23 points and Elliot Parks had 13.

Port Edwards, Pacelli, and Pittsville were all tied for third in the conference, with records of 3-3.
