Area wrestlers place in Central Wisconsin Conference meet

STEVENS POINT – Multiple area wrestlers placed in Central Wisconsin Conference meet, held Feb. 8 at  Almond-Bancroft High School.

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood team finished first in the conference, followed by Bonduel, Manawa, Shiocton, Weyauwega-Fremont, Amherst, Rosholt, Pittsville, Menominee Indian, Almond-Bancroft/Pacelli, and Tri-County.

Almond-Bancroft/Pacelli Individual Results

Brandon Hall (113) placed sixth; Adolf Castillo (120) did not place; Jaymason Mayek (126) did not place; Tyler Hutkowski (132) did not place; Ariel Castillo (160) finished in fifth place; Connor Newby (170) did not place; David Travino (285) placed fourth for the team.

Amherst Individual Results

Amherst had one individual conference champion in their 160-pound wrestler, Mason Haas. Other results for Amherst were: Flynn Peterson (126) finished in sixth place; Colton Cahill (132) also placed sixth; Landon Moe (138), Bryce Wendlandt (145), and Colton Jakubek (220) placed fourth; Aiden Nelson (152) did not place; Tristan Schelvan (170) and Jake Hffman (182) were both fifth-place finishers; John Farkas (285) took second.

Rosholt Individual Results

Rosholt’s Adam Charnecke (170) was their sole conference champ. Bo Niewiadomski (126), Blade Niewiadomski (152), and Reese Anderson (182) each placed second; Blake Peskie (106) finished in fourth place; Rafael Lugo (145) placed sixth for the Hornets.

The teams will all participate in the WIAA Regionals on Feb. 15 at Auburndale High School.
