PORTAGE COUNTY – Six departments, including Amherst, Hull, Rudolph, and Park Ridge fire, responded to a house fire on Feb. 11 on Clarice’s Circle in the town of Hull.
The blaze was reported around 10 a.m. and was believed to have started in the garage. Explosions were reported during the incident and responders said the blasts were likely due to propane tanks stored in the garage.
“The explosion was probably the propane tanks, but at this time, we are not sure,” said Hull Fire Chief Ken Sadogierski.
According to reports, the garage and parts of the home collapsed.
The residence is uninhabitable. Sadogierski said one person was inside the house when the flames first started but made it out safely. No injuries were reported, although one cat perished in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
