United Way honors 2019 campaign champions

STEVENS POINT – The United Way of Portage County honored dozens of volunteers and businesses for their support during the 2019 campaign at its annual Recognition Luncheon on Feb. 12, at the Holiday Inn & Conference Center in Stevens Point.
The luncheon commenced with keynote speaker, Professor Corey Huck who presented “The Health Aspects of Community and Family Engagement.”
United Way 2019 Campaign Drive Chairs Doug Munsey, Jeff Budelier, Les Dobbe thanked the 240 plus supporters that raised more than $3.2 million during the campaign,
Award winners included: Pete & Laura McPartland, received the Tina Peters Dedicated Service Award. Ray Nass was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Two teams received the Fritzie Marquard Volunteer of the Year Award – Molly Sankey and Heather Wynne, of Ki Mobility, and Dave Bakken and Kathy Davies. For the fifth consecutive year, Sentry Insurance received the Million Dollar Circle Award, after raising over $1.2 million. Erin Olson, director of human development at CAP Services, received the Speakers Bureau Award. Special Recognition Awards were given to Anne Leton McDill Elementary, Lynette Patoka of Bliss Educational Services Center, and Bev Staniak of Verso. Timmy Cooper received the Board President Award. Plover Fire Department received the Campaign Coordinator Team of the Year Award. Spectra Print received the 2019 Community Spirit Award. Verso, Associated Bank, Inclusa, Len Dudas Motors, and Ki Mobility received the Special Service Award. Roosevelt Elementary won the Education Services Award. Stevens Point Orthopedics received the Best New Campaign Award. Verso received the Corporate Volunteer Engagement Award.
