STEVENS POINT – Pacelli girls basketball hosted their Central Wisconsin South rival, Wild Rose, on Feb. 14 for a shot at the top of the conference.
Pacelli’s offense struggled in the first half of the game and Wild Rose took the lead into halftime, 27-18.
In the second half, the offense found their stride and outscored the Wildcats, 22-18, but it wasn’t enough to gain the lead. Wild Rose won the game, 46-40, and in turn took sole possession at the top of the conference leaderboard.
Wild Rose moved to 10-0 in the conference and Pacelli fell to second place with a 9-2 record.
Leading the Cardinals was Sarah Mueller, with 17 points and 24 rebounds for a double-double and Emma Van Order put up 15 points of her own.
Pacelli will play Almond Bancroft for the final regular game of the season on Feb. 20 at Almond Bancroft High School.
