Amherst girls advance; Almond-Bancroft ends season

STEVENS POINT – The Amherst girls basketball team will move on in regional play after a nailbiter in Peshtigo on Feb. 25.
Amherst won the regional playoff game 43-39.
The Falcons play next on Feb. 28 against Wrightstown at Wrightstown High School.
The Almond-Bancroft girls faced Gresham Community on Feb. 25 for a regional game. Gresham won the contest, 70-51, ending Almond-Bancroft’s season.
Almond-Bancroft’s season comes to an end with a 10-13 record overall and 5-7 in the Central Wisconsin South Conference.
The Eagle’s Melissa Perzinski led the team this year in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game. Chloee Dernbach led them in rebounds with a 6.9 per game average.
