Women’s wrestling comes up short in final home dual

STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women’s wrestling team came up short, 21-17, in the final home dual on Feb. 18 against North Central, rescheduled from December.
Brooke Thurber (Nekoosa) continued her solid campaign with the Pointers, winning by fall just 45 seconds into her match at 109.
Abby Nelson (Iron River) also won for the Pointers with a fall at the 36 seconds mark in the 123 match. Morgan Bethea (Neillsville) won by forfeit at 116 for UWSP.
Megan Struble (Seymour) and Jessika Rottier (Pulaski) each earned a team point despite teach fall losses.
The Pointers are next in action at the Women’s National Collegiate Championship March 6-8.
