PORTAGE COUNTY – Ice cream has become synonymous with spring in Portage County. Locals flock to the classic creameries each March while snow still drifts across street corners and through the air in anticipation of the warmth and color of spring.

Plover’s King Cone kicked off their season on Valentine’s Day, offering visitors the chance to win sweet treats for their valentine. Featuring homemade ice cream and indoor seating, King Cone is perfect for chilly spring days. King Cone is located at 2534 Post Rd.
Belts’ Soft Serve
Belts’ Soft Serve, in Stevens Point, is another notorious hotspot for cold treats. Located at 2140 Division St., this sweet shop has been welcoming spring into the city for decades. Belts’ kicked off their season on March 6.
Carl D’s Soft Serve
Stevens Point is Carl D’s Soft Serve, located at 1232 Park St., has grown into a favorite for community members and tourists alike. The shop opened its doors on March 6.
