STEVENS POINT – Due to regulations imposed during the COVID-19 outbreak, Portage County Literacy Council (PCLC)’s annual fundraiser, Words & Friends for Literacy will be held remotely.
The event runs April 26-30, to raise awareness and funds for adult literacy services.
Teams of any number and any age may participate by creating a team page at http://pocolit.org/fundraiser; then post results and photos on the PCLC Facebook page using the hashtag #MyWordsAndFriends.
The three teams who raise the most funds will win prizes. PCLC will also post one challenge a day during the event for people who want to compete for additional prizes.
Proceeds from the event support PCLC programs. PCLC serves adults who want to improve their reading, writing, and/or math skills, and immigrants and refugees who want to learn English and civic information.
