STEVENS POINT – The Village of Plover is extending their April 10 holiday hours to a full day.
“With recent concerns that this week and next week will be a critical time for the people of Wisconsin to socially distance themselves to minimize the potential of contracting COVID-19, Village President Davies has chosen to exercise his emergency powers to declare that the Friday before Easter half-day holiday (four hours) will be expanded to an all-day holiday (eight hours) for all village of Plover employees. As such, all village offices will be closed on Friday, April 10, 2020,” officials said in a release.
“Village President Davies has determined that the safety of Village employees and the public in general is paramount during this critical time. President Davies asks that everyone honor social distancing recommendations and requirements currently in place. Social distancing measures appear to be limiting the spread of COVID-19, so it is imperative to continue adhering to those measures, especially over the next two weeks.”
