Body pulled from Wisconsin River

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Police Department says that they have pulled the body of a deceased woman from the Wisconsin River.
“On April 9, at approximately 10:09 a.m., while conducting a water search by land, Officers located the body of a deceased elderly female in the water near the Clark St Bridge,” Stevens Point Assistant Chief Tom Zenner said in a release.
Stevens Point Fire Department and Portage County Sheriff’s Office assisted with body recovery. All further inquiries will be referred to the medical examiner.
Officers had been monitoring the area daily since March 22, following the disappearance of a 76-year-old Stevens Point female.
