Portage County Parks releases information on services under Safer at Home extension

PORTAGE COUNTY – The Portage County Parks Department has released information on services available under the Safer at Home extension.
“Under this order we will limit all campsites to members of a single household or living unit. All other private gatherings of any number of people are prohibited,” the department said in a release.
On May 1, the department will open its campgrounds at Jordan Park, Lake Emily, and Lake DuBay. Collins Park will open as scheduled, on May 15.
“We will not be taking new reservations until June 1, 2020. Those sites that are not being reserved may be taken on a first come basis through self-registration,” the release added.
Rocks Disc Golf Course will also open to the public on May 1, Daily self-registration can be done on site or season passes can be purchased online.
At this time all lodge reservations will be cancelled through June 1, subject to change. Those that have made a reservation will be contacted and refunded their money.
The Dewey Shooting Range will not be open until June 1, subject to change.
“We are asking all campers and users of our parks to please help maintain proper social distancing guidelines and avoid close contact with others. The CDC recommends a minimum of six feet or distance to help reduce the risk of spread between individuals. Please follow the guidelines to help keep our parks open,” the release stated.
