Economic Response Team hosts third meeting; Local businesses asked to complete online questionnaire

STEVENS POINT – Business owners throughout the region gathered with leaders of the Portage County Economic Response Team to discuss options for maintaining basic operations during the COVID-19 shutdowns.
The meeting was held online on April 29, featuring keynote presentations by Portage County Health Officer Gary Garske, on county-wide COVID-19 updates, and Attorney Dan Schmeeckle, on business safety in a COVID-19 environment.
The response team is also asking local business owners to complete an online questionnaire to help the group better understand how they can support the community.
The team will also host a free online webinar for businesses on May 5, where participants will learn about: Preparing a business for long-term financing and working with your bank; Accessing SBA Debt Relief Programs; SBA Micro Loan program eligibility and case study projects; SBA (7a) and Express Loan program eligibility and case study projects; SBA 504 Loan and Refi program eligibility and case study projects; and WEDC financial programs and refundable tax credits.
