ANTIGO – The CoVantage Credit Union Board of Directors is donating $100,000 in support of area non-profit organizations located throughout communities served by the financial cooperative.
Funds were specifically targeted to support local charities that have been working with those experiencing financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as area food pantries, homeless shelters, and community foundations.
Among the recipients is the United Way of Portage County.
“The credit union recognizes that these are difficult times for our communities, and our directors wanted to provide these donations as a way of living our mission by helping those on the front-lines who are serving our friends and neighbors who are struggling,” said CoVantage CEO Charlie Zanayed. “While there has been an increase in demand for services and supplies because of COVID-19, it is our hope that these donations to non-profit organizations will have a positive impact for those with the greatest needs.”
