PORTAGE COUNTY — The Portage County Gazette is working with the Salvation Army of Stevens Point to help feed the hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With over 22 million Americans filing for unemployment since the start of the pandemic, according to federal data, the Gazette is asking the community to come together to help donate food to the Salvation Army to help keep Portage County families fed.
Residents are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food items to the Portage County Gazette main office drop off box, located at 1024 Main Street Stevens Point. The drop off box will be available for donations 24/7 during the food drive. Food donation bins will be located outside of the Portage County Gazette Office near the front door; no social contact is necessary. Those donating are encouraged to wear protective masks when making drop-offs.
Help your community by contributing to the Portage County Gazette Social Distancing Food Drive.
The food drive will run from May 21 through June 8.
