Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf Week No. 3 league results

PORTAGE COUNTY – It was a near perfect day, weather-wise, May 20 as the Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League met in third-week action at Glacier Wood Golf Course in Iola. Several teams played extremely well and a few others found the going a little rougher over the par 71 course.
Topping Stricker Division play, Midwest Hardware shot a two-man best ball total of 22-under par to easily beat Hilltop Too. Rookies wasn’t far behind with a 17-under par to pound Custer Roadhouse while Hilltop Pub & Grill took three of four points from Two Harps.
In Kelly Division play, it was Jordan Bar again who led the way, defeating Young Guns 125-133. In other matches, Big Apple Bagels downed Old Strokes; Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint beat Point After/Cozy Kitchen; and Partners Pub fell to the blind draw.
Low gross scores were turned in by Tom Habel with a one under 70; Tom Shafranski was at even par 71; Greg Klug fashioned a 76; Charlie Spaarhad 77; and Keith Ringberg had a 79.
Low net scores were turned in by Klug with a 67; Habel and Shafranski each had 68; Bernie Prutz and Dennis Valcq each had 69; Brian Steffen 70; and Bill Lester 71.
Following three weeks of play, Midwest Hardware and Rookies Sports Pub lead the Stricker Division with nine points each. On top of the Kelly Division are Point After/Cozy Kitchen and Big Apple Bagels with eight points each.
The players return to Foxfire Golf Club on May 27 in Week No. 4 play.
