Delta Dental to build corporate headquarters in Stevens Point
For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – Delta Dental of Wisconsin has announced plans to build its new corporate headquarters in the Portage County Business Park in Stevens Point, bringing its employees and growing business lines under one roof.
“The space allows for continued growth for Delta Dental to enhance its mission to improve oral health across Wisconsin,” the company said in a release.
The groundbreaking is expected in June with a completion date targeted for late 2021.
Delta Dental has a more than 50-year history in the Stevens Point community.
The company said that the building will create efficiencies by consolidating Delta Dental’s two office locations, currently at Hoover Road and in downtown Stevens Point.
The new corporate headquarters will be the home to more than 300 employees, and includes Delta Dental of Wisconsin, Wyssta Services – a subsidiary that sells and administers individual and family dental plans on behalf of seven additional Delta Dental member companies, DeltaVision (Wyssta Insurance Company), NorthWinds Technology Solutions, and the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation.
“The community of Stevens Point is the fabric of Delta Dental of Wisconsin and will continue to be our future,” said Pamela Gartmann, vice president, administration. “The new headquarters is essential to continue our mission to the members and communities we serve. We have outgrown our current workspaces and don’t have capacity for future employees. Our new facility will foster a collaborative and innovative environment to attract and retain employees from our region and beyond.”
The company said that 100 percent of construction-related bids have been awarded to Wisconsin-based businesses.
The new headquarters will be three stories and 133,000-square feet. It will feature a “modern floor plan” and outdoor areas including a walking path. The building is accessible to city of Stevens Point bus lines and local bike paths.
Ellis Construction is the construction manager for the project. Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP is the architect and designer.
