STEVENS POINT – Pacelli Catholic High School held a commencement ceremony on July 25 to recognize their graduating seniors.

The ceremony was held indoors at the school, with social distancing and masking requests in place.

Mitchell Jensen served as class valedictorian, and Henry Basala was salutatorian for the class.

“This has been a crazy ending to our senior year,” Basala said in a virtual speech. “Who would have thought that Friday, March 13 would have been the last time we walked the halls here.

“We were all suddenly forced to change in so many ways. We finished out our senior year online, spending weeks at home; maybe watching Netflix shows, and finding new ways to stay connected with each other.”

Basala spoke on the challenges the class faced over the past year and how that will prepare them for the future.

“This is only the beginning of our future adventures, and we are going to have to overcome so many more challenges in the future – college, jobs, our ever-changing world, and all of the things life throws at us,” he added.
