Sex offender released into Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Police Department is informing the public that a convicted sex offender has been released into the city of Stevens Point.
Cody J. Patterson, 26, will reside at 1504 Water Street. He was convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child and exposing a child to harmful material.
“Cody J. Patterson had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old female after inviting her and another 13-year-old acquaintance to his neighbors’ garage, providing them marijuana and giving her water that possibly contained a ‘date rape’ drug,” a department release said, regarding a 2010 incident.
“In 2012 Cody J. Patterson, had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old acquaintance and had her text nude photos of herself. While incarcerated in 2014, Cody J. Patterson mailed sexually explicit information to a minor female and asked her sexual questions and detailed his sexual fantasies about her. Cody J. Patterson has multiple other criminal convictions including, but not limited to child abuse – intentionally causing harm; and sex offender using different names.”
Patterson will be placed on supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and monitored by probation agents with the Division of Community Corrections, in Portage County. He is also subject to lifetime GPS monitoring.
Patterson has additional conditions not to have any unsupervised contact with minors, no contact with the victims, and not to consume drugs.
