STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point common council held a special meeting on Sept. 14, during which they appointed Kari Yenter to the city clerk position.
Yenter will replace Karlyn Krautkramer, who resigned in August to take a position with the school district.
“After looking through the applications, (Yenter) was the obvious candidate,” Wiza explained.
Yenter has 30 years of experience with the city, serving as the city’s licensing and elections specialist.
“She currently lives outside of the city, so she’s planning to move into a family member’s home in the city while her and her husband look for a house,” Wiza said, noting that the city clerk must live within the city limits.
Yenter will serve the remainder of Krautkramer’s term, ending April 30.
