Where to find Santa
Holiday happenings around the county
By Taylor Hale
With COVID-19 derailing some Christmas plans, it’s important for many that their kids still see Santa Claus this season.
Luckily, the county has you covered. Santa will be making social-distancing pit stops in cities around Portage County.
Rudolph
Bring the family to the Rudolph Christmas Market for a chance to see Santa and enjoy live music, vendors, and more on Dec. 12. The event kicks off at 3 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m., with a holiday parade at 6 p.m.
Located on Main Street in Rudolph. For more information, visit rudolphcountrychristmas.org.
Stevens Point
Point residents will have a chance to see Santa and drop off their holiday letters at Geppetto’s Workshop on Main Street on Dec. 12 and 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Santa will be safely seated behind the storefront window, waving and greeting kids with Christmas cheer.
Plover
Village residents will have a chance to see Santa at a Very Plover Christmas Dec. 11-12, 5-7 p.m., located at the Little Plover River Park.
Guests will be able to enjoy drive-through holiday displays and drop off their letters to the bearded man himself.
Locals can also see Santa at the Ransbottom’s Christmas display, located at 2570 Truman Avenue, Plover.
Check online to see if Santa will be stopping by, or visit any night until Jan. 2 for an automated holiday lights display, synced with music on 98.5 FM.
