Updated community testing hours
Testing site open Mondays and Thursdays
Portage County Health and Human Services is changing the hours of the free COVID-19 testing provided at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), located at 1519 Water Street in Stevens Point.
Testing will no longer be available on Tuesdays. Testing will be available on Mondays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 1- 5 p.m. This change takes effect on Feb. 1.
Testing is anticipated to continue through March 2021 and will be offered weekly on Mondays and Thursdays, except dates that are observed as a federal holiday. In situations of severe winter weather, the public will be notified of site closure through local news stations and the Portage County Division of Public Health Facebook page. The official hours for the testing site are: Mondays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Thursdays, 1-5 p.m.
Please access the ADRC from Arlington Place, turning South onto Elk Street and the entrance will be clearly marked. We encourage people to preregister using COVID Connect for all testing days. Individuals tested will receive their test results through an email, if provided, or a phone call within three to seven days after being tested.
Testing is available to all Wisconsin residents who are at least 5 years old and are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 or are identified as a close contact to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Vulnerable populations, including the elderly and immunocompromised, have increased risk for serious and life-threatening complications, but anyone can develop symptoms or become seriously ill if infected with COVID-19. It is also important to remember that COVID-19 can be spread by those who are not experiencing symptoms.
If you have questions or immediate needs related to COVID-19, call 2-1-1 or text COVID-19 to 211-211.
