Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department seeks nominations

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is seeking nominees for their annual Volunteer of the Year Award.
“The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department Volunteer of the Year Award is for distinguished service to a department cause, park, park space, program, or initiative that benefits the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department,” a department release stated.
“Nominees must have volunteered in the calendar year previous to the award selection. Examples are boards and commissions, Friends groups, park adopters or caretakers, initiative volunteers (e.g., trail maintainers, flower bed/garden planters, etc.), or social service organizations that benefit the city of Stevens Point.”
Nominees must be 16 years of age and older and be engaged in a volunteer activity that benefits the city of Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
“Award selections are based on the nominee’s volunteer efforts and commitment of time, accomplishments, and community impact. Recipients of the awards are based on merit – without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or physical/mental disability,” the release added.
The winner will be presented with the award on the main stage at Riverfront Rendezvous Festival in Pfiffner Pioneer Park.
