PARK RIDGE – A late January caucus resulted in five nominations for three seats in the village of Park Ridge spring elections, that ballot has now been parred down to three.
Steve Menzel was the lone nominee for village president, while Matt Chitwood, Brian Kozlowski, Kristin Paulson, and Gordon Renfert were seeking terms in the two trustee seats.
On Feb. 2 Village Clerk Kathy Bemowski issued a release that three names will appear on the April 6 ballot, as two “nominees did not return the required paperwork.”
Menzel will remain on the spring ballot for village board president, while Renfert and Paulson seek the trustee seats.
Menzel began his time as president following the December recall election, replacing Steve Bergin. Renfert was also elected in the recall vote.
In-person absentee voting in Park Ridge for the state superintendent of public instruction began Feb. 2, for the Feb. 16 primary election.
