CENTRAL WISCONSIN – United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties’ Financial Stability Coalition hosted the Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl virtually in late February.

“The Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl (FICB), a financial literacy program of Asset Builders of America, Inc., culminates in a bowl-style quiz competition for high school students. The FICB aligns with statewide learning standards for financial literacy and is an effective strategy to promote learning.  Thirteen teams of high school students from four area school districts competed in this year’s competition,” a United Way release stated.

“The Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl is an exciting opportunity for the Financial Stability Coalition to actively address its goal of community members learn skills to become financially independent” says United Way Community Impact Director Jodi Friday.  “What better way to build financial literacy skills than to start with our community’s youth.”

Iola Scandinavia defeated Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School in the championship round and will advance to the state competition in May. Winning team members from Iola Scandinavia were: Will Tappa, Kyle Heise, Emilie Briquelet, and Marin Hoyord.
