Pointers land 15 on USTFCCCA All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams netted 15 honorees on the United State Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor All-Region list. The Pointers had 11 men and four women recognized.
UWSP men to earn all-region honors were Ashton Arnold (Kiel), Bret Hilliard (Morton, IL), Josh Jumbeck and Evan Torgerson (Weston) for the distance medley relay. Mike Ayensu-Mensah (Appleton) and Tom Kohn (Minnetonka, MN) were awarded for the high jump and triple jump, respectively.
Omena Onomakpome (Hobart, IN) and Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc) garnered honors for the 60-meter hurdles.
Nick Chesterman (Sun Prairie) in the heptathlon, Braedon Gilles (Middleton) in the 800-meter run, and Blake Orr (Waupaca) in the weight throw were also recognized.
Sylviann Momont (Auburndale) led the women with three all-region selections for the pentathlon, high jump, and 60-meter hurdles.
Leyna Herzog (Appleton) in the 200-meter dash, Adrienne Lewis (Kimberly) for the long jump, and Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay) in the 800-meter run were also selected to the list.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-five individuals in their respective region on the final TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region’s top-three relay team was also selected for distinction.
