Incumbents retain Point and Plover seats

PORTAGE COUNTY – Voters in Stevens Point and Plover have elected to retain incumbents in school and government seats for the upcoming terms.

In the Stevens Point District 5 race, incumbent Meleesa Johnson beat challenger, Marla Schultz, 257-168, to retain her seat; while, District 9 incumbent, Polly Dalton topped Brian Beaulieu, 201-154.

In the race to fill three open Stevens Point school board seats, incumbents Meg Erler – 4,275; Judy Rannow – 2,902; and Mike Wade – 2,852 garnered enough votes to retain their seats. Challengers W. Alexander Sommers earned 2,705; Robert Larson received 2,198; and Ed Morganroth, Jr. had 2,025.

In the Plover Village Board races, Ross Ballard defeated Karl Pinter, 224-172, in Ward 1; while, incumbent Gary Wolf received 317 votes to defeat Jerod Barkley, 260, and Steven Robinson, 55.
