STEVENS POINT – On May 27, 34 students completed their high school education by graduating from the Charles F. Fernandez Center for Alternative Learning.

The Fernandez Center has been serving students grades 10-12 since 1988 when it opened with the mission of providing SPASH students with an alternative place to learn.

In a graduation address reflecting on their time at the Fernandez Center, student speaker Reggie Eaton, said, “here I feel like a human first and a student second.”

Eaton received a Charlie Award during the ceremony.

The Charlie Awards recognize students that demonstrate resiliency, positive attitude, and drive to succeed, regardless of the obstacles that they face in life.
