City band to present third concert of the sesason

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point City Band will present its third concert of the summer season on  June 23 at 7:00 PM in the Pfiffner Pioneer Park band shell along the Wisconsin River.

“This and That: A Musical Melange” will be the theme as the band, under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, plays an assortment of music from various genres. Featured numbers will include “Dance Fever”, “Sounds of Simon and Garfunkel”, “Kentucky – 1800”, “The Doors on Tour”, “Swedish Rhapsody” and the “Village Tavern” polka. Performances of music from the ever-popular show “Phantom of the Opera” and the hit movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be the evening’s highlights.

Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through August 4.  Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating.
