Tuesdays with the Mayor: June 14
By Taylor Hale
STEVENS POINT – Mayor Mike Wiza sat down with Gazette staff to give an update on Stevens Point developments. Wiza touched on a new subdivision that could come to the city and Make Music Day.
City moves forward with new subdivision
City leaders approved a 39-lot subdivision located at 5498 Golla Road during a Plan Commission meeting during the week of June 7. The 24-acre plat is currently in the town of Hull, an annexation request would be submitted by the Rettler Corporation to bring the property to Stevens Point.
The developer wants to annex the land to Stevens Point to create smaller, and more lots, as Hull has size restrictions in place that require lots to maintain a certain acreage.
Thirty-nine lots are proposed to be created at a size ranging from 0.44 to 1.41 acres.
Wiza said that houses could start being developed as soon as July when the city gives final approval.
